I will be attempting to do weekly roundups of great deals I find on the Internet, so here is Volume 1. If you are a like me and are a cheapo with designer taste, you will definitely find these round ups helpful.
In Trend Shoes: I prefer to buy trend-driven shoes when they are on sale because they will have limited utility with my closet and I'd have to dream up an outfit for them. Forever 21 is having their 50% of sale items currently, and, personally, I find them to always have the cheapest options with a good shelf life. Here are my top 3:
The Metallic Ankle Boot : Wear this with a cigar pant or skinny jeans to jazz up an outfit or with a salwar kameez to turn some auntie's head.
The Ruffle Stiletto : I like this modern take on a wardrobe staple.
The Caged Heel : This is a great alternative to the Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik collection that had a selection of caged heels, considering its 1/100 the price.
Also, I know folks with wider calves and ankles have trouble finding over the knee options, so if you have such legs and were in the market, here is a great option for you:
2. Nasty Gal Sale: They are having an 80% off sale on their already marked-down items. They are one of the few I shop online because they do have good quality and occasionally amazing deals. This sale also comes with free shipping, so added perk. Here are my top picks:
Sleeve for Good Dress : LBDs can get boring. This with the sheer sleeves and wrist details is a good refresher of a staple.
Cape Blazer : This is a little on the trendy side, however it is a great transitional piece, especially with this bipolar weather we have been having. Play with shoes when styling, whether it be a patent loafer or a suede thigh-high boot.
Embroidered Satin Pants : Embroidery is having a strong Renaissance currently and this, while can be seen as trendy, will definitely earn some wardrobe mileage, from pairing it with a kurta to create a quick Desi party outfit to a white button down for a crisp office look.
Ray of Light Dress : Summer dresses are tough for those of us in need of sleeves and this airy number can help.
3. Stock Up on Basics: I am a modest dresser, by choice, and I require an arsenal of bodysuits for the sleeveless or deep-plunge or strapless pieces in my closet. Also, because of the bustling social calendar that comes with being married to a social butterfly, I am constantly getting creative with my sarees when I don't have time to get something made by WESTxEAST. So whenever I find interesting crop tops that I can pair with a saree, I grab them. During the Forever 21 sales, I always find amazing options, so here are a few:
Floral Mesh Bodysuit with Bell Sleeves : This is great for any V-Neck, sleeveless options, especially if its a solid color. It gives it a little more pizzaz
Star-Studded Bodysuit : I like this for my strapless pieces or my sleeveless pieces with a high round neckline.
Lace Bodysuit : This is a staple and I lean on it all the time.
Emerald Sequined Crop Top : I envision this with deep emerald green satin saree, which would be excellent for an evening event.
Metallic Twist Front Crop Top : This just gives me Balmain vibes and a chic way to update a black saree. Add a Double Dhothi Drape, you'd be Vogue ready.
Satin Ballon Sleeve Crop Top : I feel like this option will make any saree instantly haute couture. It's a great way to channel Anamika Khanna on a budget.
Crushed Velvet Crop Top : I am a fan of pairing different textures, so with velvet, I enjoy pairing with a net saree. The heavy and light is a match par excellence.
So that's it for this week's roundup. Share some feedback on if you find this helpful! Either way, I'll keep doing them till someone says stop. Till next week!
